The Texans signed three running backs earlier this week just in case, but they’re hoping at least one of the regulars is able to go this weekend.
According to Brian Smith of the Houston Chronicle, Ben Tate (ribs) practiced, and said earlier this week he expects to play Sunday night against the Colts.
Arian Foster (hamstring) didn’t practice Wednesday but ran on the side with trainers, and coach Gary Kubiak wasn’t ready to rule him out.
“Arian went out and stretched, did some stuff and did some walkthrough. And then he worked with the trainers,” Kubiak said. “I think he’s going to do everything he can to be there. But I think it’ll be an end of the week decision, so we’ll see. He did do some things, just not with the team once we got going.”
Tate (ribs) said Monday he plans to play against Indy. He went through a light practice Wednesday.
“I think it’s still going to be end of the week. We’ll see how he comes out [Thursday], how sore is he,” Kubiak said.
Having both would help, but getting one of them back would be significant, as they try to salvage something with Case Keenum starting at quarterback.
