Bills quarterback Thad Lewis missed Wednesday’s practice with injured ribs. Coach Doug Marrone said that Lewis is 50-50 to play.
For now, take the over.
Per a league source, Lewis is expected to play on Sunday, despite the missed practice. It remains to be seen whether he’ll practice on Thursday, or whether Jeff Tuel and Matt Flynn will again split reps.
Even if, as we’re told, Lewis will play, missing practices will impair his preparation for the 8-0 Chiefs. Still, he’s likely a better option than Tuel or Flynn, who was available to be signed recently for a reason.
Also missing practice on Wednesday were running back Fred Jackson (knee), receiver Steve Johnson (hip), and defensive tackle Kyle Williams (Achilles).
Limited in practice were receiver Marquise Goodwin (elbow), linebacker Manny Lawson (hamstring), quarterback E.J. Manuel (knee), running back C.J. Spiller (ankle), and guard Kraig Urbik (knee).
Yes, Manuel practiced. But Marrone has said their no chance Manuel will play on Sunday. There’s a much greater chance Lewis will play. Which improves the chances that the Bills will score an upset over the last remaining unbeaten team.
