No Percy Harvin return this week

The Seahawks will be without wide receiver Sidney Rice this week after Rice tore his ACL in Monday night’s narrow victory over the Rams.

They won’t have Percy Harvin either. The much anticipated return of Harvin from offseason hip surgery has been put off a little bit longer. Coach Pete Carroll made the announcement during an appearance on SiriusXM NFL Radio on Thursday.

“Percy won’t play this week,” Carroll said. “He’s getting close but not close enough.”

Harvin hasn’t practiced this week after reportedly suffering a setback in practice last week. Carroll’s comments suggest that there’s a chance that Harvin will be able to play in Week 10 against the Falcons, but, then, it looked like he had a good shot of playing against the Buccaneers as well.

With Harvin out, Doug Baldwin and Golden Tate will be the top receivers in the lineup on Sunday with Jermaine Kearse, Bryan Walters and Ricardo Lockette in reserve.

  1. not sure why anyone thinks they would bother rolling Percy out against Tampa. Their coach will probably be fired at half time. Would be kind of pointless.

  2. So he won’t help that potent offense that put up huge numbers, against the mighty Rams? Every team clearly has their flaws, I can’t decide who the best is, I suppose it’s between the Colts, Chiefs, and Bronco’s.

  3. With the Bucs, Falcons and Vikings on the Hawks To Do list, they might think about holding him off until they face the Saints after their bye week. Thats another month off though, i don’t know that i want to wait that long to see the guy catching passes from Wilson, but i’d rather be safe than sorry.

  4. Good, give him more time to heal… I said weeks ago we should rest him until at least the ATL game, due to the teams we were playing. Tate, Baldwin, Kearse, and Lockette would do just fine if our pathetic O-line was able to block… If they continue to play the way they did Monday, it won’t matter who we have at WR, even if it is Harvin. Then again, maybe they would be able to block long enough for a bubble screen!!!

The thought of a team with one win on the season laughing at a team with one loss on the season has me scratching my head in wonder…

  6. pftpoet: lol at the Seahawks?

Vikings have an awful record this season. Frasier has no clue what he is doing. And your team couldn’t force a single punt against the Packers.

    Minnesota Vikings (1-6)
    Seattle Seahawks (7-1)

What exactly are you laughing about?

  8. Guess it’s better for Viking fans to laugh at Seattle than cry about their own sorry season.

Cheer up, Vike fan, you have a new head coach, general manager, and top-five draft pick to look forward to.

  9. I don’t think we can wait until the Saints game to bring Harvin back. We don’t need Harvin to win the games before we play the Saints, but the whole offense (not just Wilson) has to get used to playing with him once or twice in on-field game conditions before we take on a key opponent like the Saints. Just as importantly, the coaching staff needs to get used to Harvin in game conditions before a major opponent. When we play the Saints, we’re playing for home field advantage throughout the playoffs. We don’t want that game to be the first time the players and the coaches have seen him play in an actual game.

They are laughing at the dumb trade the you know the price you boozo’s paid get him and its that clearly not in your favor so far oh and the cap savings by not paying an injury prone athlete LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL

  13. Doesn’t matter. Even when he does come back the first hard hit he takes will bring back his “migraines” and he’ll be out for another 3-4 weeks. Repeat same process whenever he steps on the field.

  14. I think he’ll be back in time for the Vikings game. Percy Harvin used to be a member of the Vikings. Therefore, he wants to score a lot of points on them.

  15. It’s rediculous how people say how trading for harvin was stupid. Have you ever watched the kid play? He’s amazingly explosive and makes game changing plays. His migraines have been gone for years so everyone can shut up about that one. And just wait vikes fans, harvin will prove to be a better trade for the hawks in the long run

  16. Idk why Viking fans are laughing at Seahawks fans guess they really don’t have anything better to do since their team won’t be winning anytime soon while the Hawks are sitting pretty at 7-1 keep laughing vikes fans

  17. You’ll have to excuse Vikings fans. This one (Pft poet) has a bunch of different screen names, Contra is one of them.

He goes around and just makes fun of other teams, then logs in to his other accounts and gives his comment thumbs up.

    A sad, sad existence.
