Dolphins defensive end Cameron Wake might not be back to full speed.

But for a night, he looked like the Wake of old.

Wake’s sack for a walk-off safety win in overtime was a huge moment for his recovery, and the Dolphins’ in a 22-20 victory.

It was almost like a movie moment,” Wake said, via Brian Biggane of the Palm Beach Post. “We needed to make a play, . . . I beat the center with a pass-rush move.”

While snapping the team’s four-game losing streak was huge, making a play of his own was significant. Since a Week Three knee injury, he’s either been absent or practically so, with limited snaps and few plays since.

His 3.0 sacks against the Bengals were his first since logging 2.5 in the opener.

“He’s been fighting hard to get back and we could see it this week,” cornerback Brent Grimes said.

If he can continue to progress, the 4-4 Dolphins suddenly have more of a chance.
