The Jets signed rookie safety Rontez Miles from their practice squad on Friday. The move was disclosed in the NFL’s transaction log.
To make room for Miles, the club waived first-year wide receiver Michael Campbell.
Miles, 24, signed with the Jets as an undrafted free agent out of California University of Pennsylvania in May. The Jets waived him on August 31, then re-signed him to their practice squad the next day. He notched four tackles and defended one pass in four preseason games for the Jets.
The 24-year-old Campbell appeared in four games for the Jets. He played 22 snaps on offense and 12 on special teams in the Jets’ loss Sunday at Cincinnati.
