The Bills waited all week, but they’ve finally got quarterback Thad Lewis back on the practice field.

Lewis is participating in practice on Friday after missing Wednesday and Thursday’s sessions with the sore ribs that led coach Doug Marrone to call him a “50-50" shot to play against the Chiefs this weekend.

Chris Brown of the team’s website reports that Lewis’ performance in practice “will go a long way” toward helping Marrone make his final decision. Mark Gaughan of the Buffalo News reports that Lewis is practicing dropbacks, but isn’t throwing any passes.

PFT reported earlier this week that Lewis would play, a report that Marrone responded to by saying that he hoped our league source was correct because he “really” didn’t know anything about Lewis’s status. There should be an update on Lewis’ status later Friday when Marrone meets the media and the Bills release their final injury report for Sunday’s game.
