In a low-scoring first half at Ralph Wilson Stadium, one big play gave the Bills a 10-3 halftime lead over 8-0 Kansas City.

Bills rookie quarterback Jeff Tuel found swift wideout Marquise Goodwin for a 59-yard first-quarter touchdown, putting Buffalo up 7-0. The teams have traded field goals since.

The Chiefs’ defense, one of the NFL’s best entering Week Nine, surrendered 215 first-half yards. Tuel, who’s making his first NFL regular-season start, completed 9-of-15 passes for 139 yards. However, he was intercepted once, which set up Kansas City’s lone points of the game, a 27-yard Ryan Succop field goal.

The Chiefs had a wonderful opportunity to perhaps tie the game late in the first half when receiver Dexter McCluster broke wide open. However, he dropped the pass, and the Chiefs would later punt.
