Brandon Weeden is proving to be harder for the Browns to get rid of than a bad penny.

Starting quarterback Jason Campbell had to be helped off the field by trainers after taking a big hit from Ravens nose tackle Haloti Ngata. Ngata was flagged for unnecessary roughness on the play, although the gain was later given back when wide receiver Greg Little removed the helmet of a Ravens player and threw it during a post-play scuffle.

Campbell had led the Browns to a 7-3 lead before leaving the game. He hit Davone Bess on fourth-and-goal from the one-yard line to get the Browns their touchdown after a drive that saw big completions to Little and Gordon on the way to the end zone.

The Browns wound up punting on Weeden’s first drive of work and they hold onto their lead with five seconds to play in the first quarter.

UPDATE 5:16 p.m. ET: Campbell has returned to the game in the second quarter.
