Steelers offensive coordinator Todd Haley is 2-6 this year on the football field, and he’s 0-2 in the legal system.
Both defeats have come in the same case, arising from allegations that Haley and his wife failed to compensate a man who boarded their four dogs from March through July of 2012.
According to the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, an arbitration panel ruled Monday that the Haleys owe Nick Fiscante $10,090. Previously, a district judge had ruled in Fiscante’s favor, prompting the appeal to Pennsylvania’s mandatory civil arbitration process, a streamlined presentation of evidence before three local lawyers with no connection to the case or the lawyers.
The Haleys can again appeal to the next level of the Pennsylvania judicial process, a trial before a judge or a jury, if either party has exercised its right to request a jury trial.
