J.D. Walton returns, John Moffitt leaves Broncos

Denver has had one injured offensive lineman cleared to return, while another offensive lineman has walked away.

The Broncos activated J.D. Walton, their center who has started when healthy but has been sidelined by injuries for more than a year. They also placed guard John Moffitt on the reserve/left squad list.

The Denver Post reports that Moffitt is frustrated that he isn’t getting much playing time and is doing some soul searching. Moffitt, who was acquired in a preseason trade with the Seahawks, has been inactive for six of the Broncos’ eight games this season.

Walton was a 2010 third-round draft pick who started the first 36 games of his career before being lost for the season after the fourth game last year.

  1. Denver better get some help, they are finally going to have to play some teams that have winning records. Last time that happened they lost.

  2. I agree that manny has been playing very well in his place but I would think that J.D. gets his job back when he is fully up to game speed and in game shape. Either way, it’s great to have the added depth back on the offensive line.

  3. This is great news! Broncos have been keeping hush on this but Walton has been practicing for the last 3 weeks, they are weak at center and besides Manny’s natural position is guard but either way they got no depth at center. Walton played 36 straight games before injured, wasn’t like he was injury prone. Anytime you can add a lineman as talented as he was or is, its great news even if he’s just a back up. Clady still hurts but this is still great news.

  4. Moffit left the team because of Peyton Manning constantly bullying him Richie Incognito style.
