Matt Flynn clears waivers

Flynn

As it turns out, the Packers weren’t being discreet about Aaron Rodgers’ injury because they hoped to making a claim for the contract of former Packers backup Matt Flynn.

Flynn, cut Monday by the Bills before Rodgers broke his collarbone, went through waivers unclaimed on Monday, a league source tells PFT.

The Packers were low in the priority, which means someone could have claimed Flynn to block the Packers from getting him.

The Packers apparently didn’t care. They made no claim, no one else did, either, and now Flynn becomes a free agent. Again.

For Green Bay, it appears that they’ll stick with Seneca Wallace and Scott Tolzein under Rodgers can return. Which could mean more losses for the Packers until Rodgers comes back.
