Harrell, Coleman gets look-sees elsewhere

Thompson

On the same day the Packers had a compelling need to reunite with quarterbacks Graham Harrell and B.J. Coleman (but didn’t), the two former Green Bay signal-callers got chances to show other teams what they can do.

Per a league source, Coleman had a workout with the Seahawks, along with receivers Ramses Barden, Danny Coale, and Mike Thomas. (Chances are Coleman was brought in simply to throw the ball to the other three.)

Also, Harrell worked out for the Bucs, along with running backs Brandon Jackson, Darius Reynaud, and Delone Carter, receiver Jordan Norwood, tight ends Kyle Adams and Andre Hardy, and quarterback Mike Kafka. (Chances are that Harrell and Kafka were brought in simply to throw the ball to the other six.)

The Packers have shown no desire to bring back either of the two quarterbacks who were on the roster throughout the offseason and deep into training camp and the preseason. The fact that G.M. Ted Thompson hung his hat on both Coleman and Harrell as the 2014 pre-regular season backup plan for Aaron Rodgers and then shifted to Seneca Wallace and Scott Tolzein has earned the otherwise infallible Thompson more than a passing mention in this week’s PFT Live Hot Seat.
