Peyton Manning fully practices with ankle injury

Peyton

Peyton Manning rested his injured ankle over the bye week, but that wasn’t enough for his ankle to not be injured.

Manning appeared on Wednesday’s injury report as fully participating in practice with an ankle injury.

It’s unclear which ankle is injured, and the theory/informed speculation in league circles is that the ESPN report of Manning having two injured ankles was aimed at keeping opponents guessing as to which ankle is injured.

The next level of informed speculation is that the injured ankle(s) provide cover for an injury higher on the body, possibly in the shoulder area.

Manning remains on track to play Sunday against the Chargers, regardless of any and all injuries he actually has. Or doesn’t.

Other injured Broncos include receiver Wes Welker (DNP; ankle), cornerback Champ Bailey (DNP; foot), safety Duke Ihenacho (DNP; ankle), tight end Joel Dreessen (limited; knee), tackle Orlando Franklin (limited; ankle), center Manny Ramirez (limited; knee), tight end Julius Thomas (limited; ankle).
