The Giants placed a pair of players on injured reserve Thursday, and there are reasonable questions about both their futures.
As expected, they placed running back David Wilson on IR, along with veteran defensive tackle Shaun Rogers. They were replaced on the roster by running back Andre Brown and defensive tackle Markus Kuhn, who were activated from IR/designated for return and the physically unable to perform list.
Wilson, last year’s first-rounder, wasn’t cleared to return from his neck injury, and that condition puts his availability for next year in at least some degree of doubt. The Giants said there was “significant improvement” in his condition, but apparently not enough to save a roster spot.
Rogers, 34, suffered a knee injury two weeks ago, but had been a solid reserve this year. He missed last season because of a blood clot in his leg.
