Report: Locker thought to have Lisfranc injury

AP

Though little seems worse than a loss to the previously winless Jaguars, the Titans might have found it.

According to Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean, Titans quarterback Jake Locker suffered what appears to be a season-ending foot injury. The early report is that he suffered a Lisfranc injury, though he’ll undergo more tests to confirm.

Locker was on crutches and in a walking boot after the game, saying he was praying it wasn’t season-ending.

The Titans brought in Ryan Fitzpatrick this offseason as an upgrade at backup quarterback, and he could have a chance to prove himself worth it.

  1. Man this guy has the worst injury luck.

I know Titans fans must be so frustrated – he’s had flashes of being a pretty good QB but you can’t do much from the IR.

  2. Locker has the heart but he has yet to put in a full season. That hurts the team and his progress.

Time to go in a different direction. Locker would be a great backup.

  3. He does get hurt alot…but aside from him..these injuries in the NFL are getting out of control.

You almost expect that every strater on your team is going to miss some time…and the qb’s are almost guaranteed to go down…

  4. When are you guys going to wakeup…
Bring in VINCE YOUNG… At least give him a tryout….
He is ready to play NOW…. Vince is 6′-5″– mobile– with talent and playoff experience…. He is hungry, motivated and determined to show he can play this game at a high level….
Vince is a LOW risk-HIGH reward type of guy… and a wise choice for any GM/Head Coach looking to upgrade their quarterback pool….

  5. As a hawks and huskie fan we always loved lockers hard play but he did and still does take hits. he got beat up a lot as a huskie and was hurt offten. it had been a worry when he got drafted high as to if he would learn how to survive the NFL. it may be true that he’s best chance for a long life in the game is as a back up.

  6. @titanrocket
there is no top of the line QB in this draft–some schmucky team will take a flyer on Bridgewater, Johnny Ahole or anyone else coming out–be careful what you wish for

  7. uncletodd, to say this is a bad qb class is absurd. Do you have some sort of crystal ball telling you this? or maybe just crystal meth?

    Vince, is that you?

  9. I’d rather go 0-16 than to have to root for VY. & I have his jersey.

On Locker taking hits, he wasn’t even contacted on this play. Freak injury.

No doubt. It’s getting so bad, it’s starting to remind me of Matt Stafford’s injury-riddled early years.

  11. Don’t forget Matthew Stafford’s first 2 seasons. Season ending injuries, could never seem to stay healthy. People started to doubt, finally started to get past those injury plagued seasons, and now has not missed a game in the last 3 years. Stafford Turned himself into a pretty darn good qb, its not the end for locker, I haven’t followed him as much as Stafford since I am a lions fan, but I know he’s shown flashes of talent, and is a great leader. Don’t give up Titian fans!

    Go Leos

  12. Devastating day and last 30 days for The Tennessee Titans franchise…Bud Adams would not be happy…

our QB Jake Locker seems injury prone…
The Titans will finish 6-10 and draft a Quarterback high to compete with Locker who hasn’t proven he can play a 16 game season without getting hurt…

The Titans will sign a Quarterback but not one that brings controversy…that is not the current coach & GM’a style… If you remember Vince Young was on the Bills roster last preseason as Current Titans QB Ryan Fitzpatricks back up and when Vince couldn’t drive the team to anything other than field goals against 3rd stringers in a couple games the Bills cut him…Tebow? He’s a lightning rod for controversy… I would rather see Dennis Dixon… Remember the Packers now have to sign another QB with Seneca Wallace…crazy season for starting QB’s going down and back ups stepping up…

    Go Titans Go!

  13. Titans fan here.

We stink and continue to stink. At home to the hapless jags, with Indy twice on the next 3 weeks after. How big was this egg? Barf.

What an anemic O we have. We haven’t had any good O since McNair with the exception o one good year by Collins.

I want a better coach. Cut that twitchy weakling Johnson and give half his salary to cowher.

    Bah.

Dang Vince, your agent is supposed to be doing that job.

  15. It’s hard to want Locker gone. He’s a good kid, he loves the game, and he brings a factor that VY never had. When he’s been in, he’s been decent at times, pretty good at times. But that is, when he’s in. Hard to fault a guy for being injured, but I fear the experiment has about run its course. I just fear the draft. From a front office, they don’t want to admit failure, and I’d hate to see him become great elsewhere. And a bigger issue: if Locker stays, he needs a decent backup. The smartest thing for the organization to do, look for Logan Thomas around the third round. Low risk, high reward.
