Minnesota Vikings quarterback Christian Ponder suffered a shoulder dislocation to his non-throwing shoulder in Thursday night’s victory over the Washington Redskins.

The injury hasn’t appeared to be that serious with the Vikings hoping to make a decision on Ponder’s status for this Sunday’s game against the Seattle Seahawks by Thursday.

If Ponder has any say in the matter, he’ll play against the Seahawks.

The thing with this injury is, it’s not really going to hinder anything,” Ponder said, via Ben Goessling of ESPN.com. “It’s not hindering my throwing motion or anything. It’s just going to be taking a hit or something, and we don’t have fear that it’s going to get worse. It’s just being able to handle the pain, and if I can do it, then I’ll play.”

Ponder had completed 17 of 21 passes for 174 yards and two touchdowns with an interception before leaving the game Thursday night. However, Seattle’s defense is much more proficient than Washington’s. Last year against the Seahawks, Ponder completed 11 of 22 passes for just 63 yards with an interception while being sacked four times.
