Arizona Cardinals receiver Michael Floyd played just 12 snaps during Sunday’s win over the Houston Texans.

Floyd left the game after suffering a shoulder injury late in the first quarter. He caught a 20-yard pass from Carson Palmer and Texans’ cornerback Kareem Jackson hit him squarely on his right shoulder. Floyd appeared to show some discomfort after the play but came back on the field after one play on the sidelines. He again landed on his right shoulder while trying to block in front of a running play and asked out of the game as the first quarter came to a close.

According to Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com, head coach Bruce Arians said Monday that Floyd has a sprained A/C joint in his shoulder and is considered to be day-to-day.

“At first it looked like just a bruised shoulder but I don’t know the difference between a bruise and a sprain,” Arians said. “I think he’s going to want to play. That’s a big part of it.

“If he can’t play it’s a big blow because he’s starting to break out.”

Floyd caught five passes in four straight games earlier this season and had caught a touchdown pass in two of the Cardinals’ last three games. He had already caught two passes for 31 yards in the first quarter against Houston before leaving with the injury.
