Heavy underdogs Sunday at Seattle, the Vikings are hanging in early against the NFC West-leading Seahawks. However, Seattle has edged to a 17-10 second-quarter lead on Marshawn Lynch’s second rushing TD of the game.
Lynch’s one-yard TD ended a nine-play, 79-yard drive that featured Percy Harvin’s first catch of his Seahawks career. The athletic 17-yard grab extended the Seahawks’ drive and moved Seattle into Vikings’ territory.
Earlier in the quarter, the Vikings tied the game at 10 on Christian Ponder’s 39-yard TD pass to receiver Jarius Wright. On the play, Ponder rolled right and threw deep for Wright, who got behind Seahawks star cornerback Richard Sherman.
The Seahawks held a 10-3 lead after one quarter, with Lynch’s four-yard score the only touchdown of the period.
