Groin injury limited Adrian Peterson on Sunday

Like most teams facing the Vikings this season, the Seahawks focused most of their defensive attention on stopping running back Adrian Peterson.

That task has been made easier for Minnesota’s opponents as none of their three quarterbacks have been able to make teams pay for trying to stop Peterson and it was even easier for the Seahawks because Peterson wasn’t 100 percent on Sunday. Peterson, who ran for 65 yards on 21 carries, said after the game that the groin injury that kept him out of practice last week also kept him from playing at full speed.

“Actually, it was bothering me a lot,” Peterson said, via the Pioneer Press. “There were a couple plays in the first half, oh man, I knew if I was able to explode the way I normally do I could have gotten some big chunks, even taken it to the house.”

Peterson said that he didn’t think he was better off missing games until his injury has fully healed, suggesting instead that he’d again miss some practice time to rest and be back out there in Week 12. While he’s resting, the Vikings will be figuring out which quarterback they’ll be starting in hopes of putting forth a bit more of a fight the next time out of the gate.
