Wide receiver Santana Moss shared some of his thoughts on accountability on Wednesday, but it will be a while before fellow Redskins wideout Leonard Hankerson has a chance to try them out for himself.

Coach Mike Shanahan said at his Wednesday press conference that Hankerson will have surgery on his knee after injuring his LCL in last Sunday’s loss to the Eagles. Hankerson will be placed on injured reserve, ending his season and opening up a roster spot in Washington.

Hankerson had 30 catches, 375 yards and three touchdowns in 10 games this season. He was coming off of two of his better games of the season when he was hurt in Philadelphia.

Shanahan also announced that Josh Morgan will start in Hankerson’s place. Morgan recently said that he saw “no particular reason” why his playing time had decreased this season, but he won’t be able to say the same thing about his return to the lineup.

Shanahan also confirmed that defensive lineman Adam Carriker returned to practice. Shanahan said he believed in miracles when talking about Carriker’s chances of reaching the active roster this season.
