Vikings to keep on trucking with Ponder at QB

Apparently, the Vikings do not believe their quarterback position is broken again, thus do not plan to fix it.

Vikings coach Leslie Frazier announced today that Christian Ponder would start Sunday against the Packers.

We are looking forward to him leading our team to victory, and other guys around him stepping up,” Frazier told reporters.

Ponder’s coming off a 53.0-rating day against the Seahawks, though he was better in his previous three starts than the three to start the season — which led to them benching him for Matt Cassel and spending good money for a Josh Freeman rental.

Since reclaiming the starting job after Freeman was rushed into action for a start, Ponder has been acceptable at best. The fact they’re not even willing to look at Freeman with a 2-8 record makes you wonder what he’s showing them in practices and meetings.

And to think, they think the Packers are vulnerable because of quarterback issues.
