Harbaugh says there’s a chance Pitta plays Sunday

When the Ravens got tight end Dennis Pitta back at practice this week, there was no timetable in place for him to move from practices to games.

There may not be time for them to make one, either. Coach John Harbaugh said Friday that there’s “always a chance” that Pitta is in the lineup for Sunday’s game against the Jets. It seems awfully quick for a player to go from being out since August to back in the lineup after just three days of practice, but Pitta said that all options are on the table as long as he’s feeling well.

“We’ll be smart with it,” Pitta said, via Aaron Wilson of the Baltimore Sun. “We’re going to see how I feel tomorrow and how I feel the next day and go from there.”

The Ravens would have to make a roster move to activate Pitta in time for this weekend’s game. Quarterback Joe Flacco has missed having Pitta as a target this season, which explains why the team is so eager to have him back in the lineup.

They may have to wait one more week for that to happen, but it does look like Pitta will be part of any playoff push that happens in Baltimore.
