Georgia quarterback Aaron Murray, a well-regarded 2014 NFL Draft prospect, sustained a torn left ACL in Saturday’s win against Kentucky, the school confirmed on Sunday.

Murray, 23, was a four-season starter for Georgia. He threw for a Southeastern Conference-record 13,166 yards and 121 touchdowns, according to school data.

According to Ron Courson, Georgia’s director of sports medicine, Murray is anticipated to fully recover from the injury, and surgery is slated for this week, the school said.

Longer term, the question is whether Murray’s draft stock will be affected by the injury, which could, at the least, compromise his ability to go through the usual routine of pre-draft workouts. Game tape is always an important part of the evaluation process, and it will be especially so for Murray, a standout in an elite conference.
