McGloin gets second start based on merit, not injury

McGloin

As Raiders quarterback Terrelle Pryor continues to hear of Matt McGloin, there’s an interesting tidbit regarding the decision to give McGloin his second career start.

Jay Glazer of FOX reports that McGloin will start on Sunday against the Titans not because Pryor has a knee injury, but because of performance considerations.

Per Glazer, Pryor is healthy.

But McGloin has the hot hand. And the Raiders are searching desperately for a franchise quarterback.

Chances are it’s neither Pryor nor McGloin. But the Raiders have seen enough of Pryor to know he’s not the answer. With McGloin, there’s a chance he could be.

Either way, the Raiders plan to find out.
