Mike Pouncey returns to practice

The Dolphins face the Jets in Week 13 in a battle of 5-6 teams that will see the loser in bad shape when it comes to making a run for the second Wild Card spot in the AFC and they have a chance of getting their starting center back for the game.

Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald reports Mike Pouncey returned to practice on Tuesday, his first time back on the field since getting ill during the week before the team’s Week 11 victory against the Chargers. Pouncey is trying to play while taking medication for a gallbladder issue that may require surgery.

Nate Garner has played center in Pouncey’s place in the last two games with Sam Brenner moving from the practice squad to left guard. Brenner hurt his knee in last weekend’s loss to the Panthers, but was able to return to the game.

The Dolphins also made a few roster moves on Tuesday. They signed defensive tackle A.J. Francis off of the Patriots practice squad and released defensive tackle Isaako Aaitui and defensive back D.J. Campbell. Francis was with the Dolphins in training camp, but went to New England on waivers when the Dolphins set their initial 53-man roster.

  1. Happy to have both Pouncey and AJ back. He should have made the team out originally anyways. Hoping to make something out of this wasted season and at least stomp the hated Jets.

  2. Enjoy this Thanksgiving Mike. You’ll be spending your next one with your boy Aaron behind bars. Maybe you should conspire to murder people.

  3. In the near future…. other internal organs inside mike pouncey will choose death over life with mike pouncey.

  4. mike pouncey’s high character gallbladder doesn’t want to be associated with low character mike pouncey.

  5. What a drag it must be waking up every day knowing that you are helping mike pouncey’s digestion.

  6. Yes, 6 stupid statement about Mike. I’m glad to see A.J. back in Miami, I have an interest in his hopeful career because my Chiropractor went to Maryland with his father and watch him play at the home games, and he said that he is of the highest character and we all know we need good players who will stay out of trouble, I wish him success. Bill p.s. Leave Mike alone, he is not guilty of anything, has not been charge with anything, and if he is he will have his day in court, then the haters will be happy.

  7. Doctor rusty shorts hate for the anything Dolphins has gotten old. Time to come up with some new material Doc.
