Josh Sitton: It’s embarrassing, the Lions smacked us

ansah

Packers guard Josh Sitton had harsh comments for the Lions’ coaches and defensive linemen this week, but after Green Bay lost in Detroit, Sitton acknowledged that it’s hard to talk trash when you’ve just gotten your butt kicked.

“It’s embarrassing,” Sitton said. “We got our ass beat, plain and simple. They smacked us today. There’s no doubt about it. I’ve been playing this game a long time and this is one of the worst beatings I’ve ever been a part of. Yeah, it’s embarrassing.”

Still, Sitton hasn’t changed his opinion that the Lions’ defensive linemen are “scumbags” and that Lions coach Jim Schwartz is a “dick.”

“I said what I said. I’m not taking it back. I’ve moved on from that. I’m not going to sit here and talk about it all day,” Sitton said.

Several Lions said after the game that they read and discussed Sitton’s comments before the game, but the Lions also said they were plenty motivated to beat the Packers regardless of those comments. For Detroit, taking control of the NFC North was a lot more important than making Sitton eat his words.
