Major Wright questionable after hamstring pull in practice

The Bears look like they’re getting some help for their beleaguered defensive line this weekend with the expected returns of defensive tackles Stephen Paea and Jeremiah Ratliff from injury.

That help will come at a moment when the Bears might be shorthanded at the back end of their defense. Safety Major Wright has been listed as questionable for Sunday’s game against the Vikings after suffering a hamstring pull during practice on Friday. There’s no word on how severe an injury Wright suffered, but the short turnaround time before the game doesn’t work in his favor.

The Bears covered themselves in the event Wright can’t play by elevating safety Sean Cattouse from the practice squad. Anthony Walters is out, leaving Craig Steltz and Chris Conte as the team’s only other healthy safeties. Defensive tackle Tracy Robertson was waived to make room for Cattouse.

Running back Matt Forte and wide receiver Brandon Marshall were both listed as probable for a game the Bears need to win to keep pace with the Lions in the NFC North.
