The Chiefs had a 14-point lead in the second quarter of their game against the Broncos, but they find themselves in a 14-point hole with 14:16 to play at Arrowhead Stadium
The Broncos have scored 28 straight points and grabbed a 35-21 lead when Peyton Manning hit Eric Decker for a one-yard touchdown to open the fourth quarter. It was Manning’s fifth touchdown pass of the night and his third of a second half that has seen the Broncos flip the game into their favor.
Manning hit Decker for a 37-yard score on the first possession of the second half and then hit Decker again for 15 yards and another score to give the Broncos their first lead of the day. Decker has four touchdowns on the night and has feasted on deep balls against a Chiefs secondary that has lost safety Kendrick Lewis to a knee injury. Manning has 349 yards on the night, pushing him past 4,000 for the year and making him the first quarterback in history with 13 seasons of 4,000 or more yards.
The Chiefs will have to stop the tide and stop it quickly to get back into this game and keep control of the AFC West from going back to Denver with the Broncos.
