Conflicting reports about Aaron Rodgers’ return to action

The Packers didn’t play on Sunday, but the status of their quarterback was still a matter of interest throughout the day.

Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported early in the day that Rodgers would be “lucky” to play in Week 14 and that there was a chance he’d be shut down for the season if the Packers fell out of the playoff race before he’s recovered from a broken collarbone. Chris Mortensen of ESPN reports that it will take a “strong consensus” from doctors and the team after he’s examined this week for him to return against the Falcons.

Those report was joined by one from Kyle Montgomery, who works as part of FOX Sports’ team covering the Los Angeles Clippers. Rodgers was at the Clippers game Sunday and Montgomery tweeted that Rodgers told him he’d be back in Week 14. Jason Wilde of ESPNWisconsin.com, who co-hosts Rodgers’ weekly radio show, reached out to Rodgers to ask when he would be back on the field.

“I don’t plan on playing ‘til I’m 30,” Rodgers responded.

Rodgers turns 30 on Monday and we’re pretty sure we know what every Packers fan will wish for when he blows out his candles.
