Drew Brees: We’ll see the Seahawks again and play better

The Seahawks’ Monday night win over the Saints makes it almost certain that Seattle will have home-field advantage throughout the NFC playoffs. But New Orleans quarterback Drew Brees isn’t ready to concede that winning in Seattle in January is going to be impossible for his team.

Instead, Brees said after the game that he thinks he and his teammates can play better in a future meeting with the Seahawks.

“We know they are a team we are going to have to deal with in the future,” Brees said, via NOLA.com. “We are going to have to find a way to play better against these guys when that time comes.”

Saints running back Mark Ingram may have had the most accurate assessment of what happened on Monday night: “We got our butts smacked around pretty good tonight,” Ingram said.

The biggest question facing the Saints is whether they can improve enough in six or seven weeks that if they travel to Seattle again in the playoffs, they’ll avoid getting their butts smacked again. Right now, the gap between the Seahawks and the Saints looks huge.
