The Titans are down two tight ends because of concussions at the moment, a state of affairs that’s led them to shuffle up their roster.

Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean reports that the team will sign veteran tight end Visanthe Shiancoe. The team hasn’t announced the move, but they do have room on the roster. The NFL’s daily transaction report brings word that they have released linebacker Zac Diles and safety Shann Schillinger and confirmation that fullback Quinn Johnson has rejoined the club with Colin Mooney hitting injured reserve.

Schiancoe hasn’t played since being released by the Ravens at the end of the preseason and played in just four games with the Patriots last season. That ended a string of nine straight seasons without missing a game, but he should be in the lineup if Delanie Walker and Craig Stevens remain out.

Taylor Thompson is the other tight end on the Tennessee roster. The college defensive end caught nine passes for 59 yards over the last two seasons.
