Injuries force Raiders to shuffle roster

The Raiders ruled out seven members of their team on Friday, leaving them without much in the way of healthy depth heading into Sunday’s game with the Jets.

Oakland remedied that on Saturday by placing a couple of players on injured reserve and adding three new players to the roster. The Raiders shut safety Usama Young and linebacker Kaluka Maiava down for the season and released defensive lineman Brian Stanford for the additions from the practice squad.

Young has a neck injury, ending a season that saw him pick up 2.5 sacks and an interception in 12 games out of the Raiders secondary. Maiava played in nine games and had 25 tackles before a rib injury brought a year to an end.

The Raiders signed cornerback Chance Casey, safety Shelton Johnson and linebacker Marshall McFadden from their practice squad.
