Bridgewater says he’s “undecided” about entering the draft

Teddy

Last week, rumors and reports emerged that Louisville quarterback Teddy Bridgewater is considering staying in school. No one took it seriously.

Maybe we should.

According to Brett McMurphy of ESPN.com, Bridgewater said Monday that he’s “undecided” about entering the draft in 2014.

“I’ve been hearing all these stories that I’ve made a decision -- I haven’t made a decision,” Bridgewater said. “I will talk to my mom and the coaches before making my decision. I’m not leaning either way.”

Bridgewater said he hopes to make a decision within three or four days after the team’s December 28 bowl game, but he has no specific timetable -- other than, you know, the deadline in January for applying to enter the draft despite remaining eligibility.

“Whenever I feel comfortable after discussing it with my mom, my family and my coaches,” Bridgewater said.

Whatever the decision, it doesn’t sound like Bridgewater will be agonizing about it.

“It’s not a hard decision at all,” Bridgewater said. “I know I control my future and my own destiny.”

Actually, he doesn’t control either his future or his destiny. The only thing he can control at this point is whether he’ll jump to the NFL. After that, his NFL future and his NFL destiny become removed from his control.
