Detroit Lions linebacker DeAndre Levy is putting together the best season of his career.

He’s racked up 105 tackles through 14 games and is tied with New York Giants safety Antrel Rolle and Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman for most interceptions in the league with six.

With the Lions facing a critical final two games of the season with their playoff hopes in danger, Levy is now battling a foot injury.

Coming off a Monday night game, the Lions didn’t hold a full practice on Wednesday. However, if they had been able to practice, Levy would not have been able to do so. The team’s estimated injury report for the day had Levy sitting out with a foot injury.

According to Michael Rothstein of ESPN.com, Lions’ head coach Jim Schwartz called Levy’s injury “day-to-day.”

Tight end Brandon Pettigrew and safety John Wendling also would have missed practice with ankle injuries.

“All those guys are pretty much day-to-day,” Schwartz said. “Probably the most concerning one of that crowd is Pettigrew but we’ll just see where he gets to over the course of the week.

The Lions have lost four of their last five games. They no longer control their own destiny in the NFC North. Detroit has to win out and get help in order to find their way into the postseason. Having Levy and Pettigrew available would go a long way for the Lions being able to hold up their end of the deal.
