Nate Solder returns to practice for Patriots

The Patriots have seen tackle Nate Solder go down with concussions in each of the last two games, but it doesn’t appear that he’ll be taking it easy this week in hopes of avoiding a hat trick.

Solder did not practice at all on Wednesday, but the Patriots announced that he was participating in practice on Thursday. There was no indication of how much work Solder did during the session, although he will almost certainly be listed as he makes his way through the full concussion protocol.

Logan Mankins moved to left tackle last week when Solder went down with Josh Kline replacing him at left guard during an ineffective day for the Patriots offensive line. If Solder plays, he’ll be spending a lot of his time trying to stop Terrell Suggs, who hasn’t had a sack in the last six games, from disrupting Tom Brady and the passing game.

Speaking of the passing game, wide receiver Josh Boyce was the only player to miss practice for the Patriots on Thursday. Fellow rookies Kenbrell Thompkins and Aaron Dobson, who both missed the Miami game with injuries, were participating in practice.
