When Black Monday rolls around, a lot of eyes are going to be focused on New York.

Of course, Jets coach Rex Ryan has known for some time he was on thin ice, so he took the bull by the horns last night.

According to Jay Glazer of FOX Sports, Ryan told his players in a team meeting that “the word on the street” was he was getting fired, so they should “ride with” him the last two games.

Now whether there’s actually anything behind it, or whether Ryan’s trying to motivate his players for two meaningless games down the stretch remains to be seen.

Neither would be outside the realm of possibility, which makes it an intriguing strategy on Ryan’s part.
