Ryan Tannehill leaves game briefly after taking sixth sack

The Dolphins have not protected quarterback Ryan Tannehill well all day.

Now we’ll see if they do a better job with Matt Moore. Kyle Williams dropped Tannehill inside the Dolphins’ 10-yard line early in the fourth quarter for the sixth Buffalo sack of the day and Tannehill needed medical attention on the field after the play.

Tannehill limped off the field a short time later and he’s questionable to return with a knee injury. Tannehill and the Dolphins offense had a miserable first half and things got worse in the second half. They ended the first half with 56 yards and had just 58 when Tannehill left the game, leaving even the mathematically challenged with a clear idea of how bad things got.

After a long pass to Brian Hartline, things got even worse. Moore was picked off by Bills safety Jim Leonhard and the Dolphins are back on defense down 13-0 with 10:31 to play in the game.

UPDATE 3:47 p.m. ET: Tannehill returned with 6:35 to go in the game and led a three and out to hand the ball back to the Bills with Miami trailing 16-0.
