The Chargers said before Christmas they needed to sell another 2,500 tickets to make sure their home finale was broadcast locally.

It must have scared up enough customers, as the team announced today they had sold enough to lift the blackout, via Michael Gehlken of U-T San Diego.

Between last-minute purchases and eating them at 34 cents on the dollar, the Chargers have guaranteed their fans will be able to see the Chiefs game, which may or may not have playoff implications.

The Chargers will be eliminated if either Miami or Baltimore wins in the early slot, so they’ll know by kickoff whether it matters. But either way the locals will get to watch.
