Buccaneers safety Dashon Goldson has again been hit with a huge fine.
The NFL fined Goldson $60,000 for a helmet-to-helmet hit on Rams receiver Stedman Bailey on Sunday. That’s far more than players typically get fined for helmet-to-helmet hits, but Goldson’s status as a repeat offender has him in the NFL’s crosshairs.
Goldson has previously been suspended for one game for one hit, and fined $100,000 for another hit (and that fine came only after he appealed his initial punishment, a one-game suspension).
For his part, Goldson believes he’s being targeted by the league. Goldson doesn’t have to like it, but the reality is that the league discipline will keep coming until he learns to stop hitting opposing players in the head.
