The Patriots promoted a pair of rookie defensive backs from the practice squad on Saturday, signing Justin Green and Kanorris Davis to the active roster one day before the regular-season finale vs. Buffalo.

An undrafted safety from Troy, the 23-year-old Davis has played in two regular-season games for New England, playing 37 special teams snaps.

Green, 22, appeared in the Patriots’ Week 12 win vs. Denver, playing nine defensive snaps and four special teams snaps. He is an undrafted free agent from Illinois.

The Patriots now have all 53 roster spots filled. New England, which has won the AFC East, can earn the No. 1 seed in the conference playoffs with a win against Buffalo and a Denver loss at Oakland on Sunday. A victory would give the Patriots a first-round bye.

  1. I hate the patriots, but if anyone but Tom Brady wins the league MVP this season then it will be a shame. This guy has nothing but average talent around him and he still brings the patriots to a possible #1 seed in the AFC. You can send Tom Brady to play QB for any team in this league and you can put 10 wins in the bank guaranteed

  2. Wake up people, the Pats secondary is hurting and they’re not afraid of what’s name starting at QB for Buff. Glorified walkthru
