It’s pouring at MetLife Stadium on Sunday and injuries are coming as fast as the raindrops.
The Giants lost quarterback Eli Manning, wide receiver Rueben Randle and wide receiver Hakeem Nicks to ankle injuries in the first half and then lost left tackle Will Beatty in the third quarter. The Giants announced that Beatty broke his right leg when he took a blow to the inside of the knee during a play.
It ends a disappointing year for Beatty, who signed a five-year deal before the season. Pass protection was one of many problems for the Giants offense and Beatty admitted earlier this month that he’s failed to live up to expectations in the first year of that contract.
The Giants lead 17-6 in a game that’s featured six turnovers, a lot of rain and little in the way of excitement outside of Jerrel Jernigan, who has accounted for 139 yards and both Giants touchdowns.
