Wes Welker fully cleared after concussion

The Broncos took wide receiver Wes Welker with them to Oakland on Sunday, but he didn’t play in the 34-14 victory over the Raiders.

There shouldn’t be anything stopping him from getting on the field the next time that the Broncos play a game, however. Mike Klis of the Denver Post reports that Welker has been fully cleared after the concussion that kept him out for the last three games of the regular season.

The Broncos won the last two of those games and put up 91 over the three games, so their offense was still able to function at a high level without Welker in the lineup. Having all hands on deck can only help the effort to advance beyond the Divisional Round this season since the Broncos defense has been torched more than once this season.

Speaking of that defense, safety Duke Ihenacho suffered a concussion against the Raiders and is currently in the league’s concussion protocol. The extra time before the Broncos return to action should help Ihenacho get cleared in time to play a week from Sunday.
