Earl Wolff misses practice for Eagles

It doesn’t look good for safety Earl Wolff’s chances of taking the field for the Eagles on Saturday night.

Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports that Wolff didn’t practice on Wednesday because of the right knee injury that’s forced him to miss five of the last six games. Wolff was forced out of the one game he did play -- the Week 16 victory over the Bears -- and said Tuesday that he was optimistic about playing, but coach Chip Kelly said Wednesday that Wolff won’t play if he doesn’t practice.

“Earl has to practice if he’s going to play, so if that’s your question, yeah, he’s got to get out there at some point in time,” Kelly said in his press conference.

Thursday’s practice is a walkthrough and will be Wolff’s last chance to fulfill Kelly’s requirement before Sunday. Patrick Chung has started alongside Nate Allen in Wolff’s absence, although McLane reports that it looks like Kurt Coleman will split time with Chung against the Saints.
