Eagles take 24-23 lead late in fourth

The Saints haven’t gotten cornerback Keenan Lewis back in the lineup and the Eagles have taken advantage of his absence.

They’ve outscored New Orleans 17-3 since Lewis left the game and now lead 24-23 with 4:54 left to play. The go-ahead score came when Nick Foles hit tight end Zach Ertz for a three-yard score.

The touchdown came two plays after Saints cornerback Corey White was flagged for interfering with Eagles wide receiver DeSean Jackson at the foot of the New Orleans end zone. The play to Jackson was one of several throws that have gone his way since Lewis left the game as the Eagles have picked on White and Rod Sweeting relentlessly.

There’s plenty of time for the Saints to come back and put more points on the board. Given the way their secondary has played since Lewis’ injury, they’d be wise not to leave too much time on the clock if they do.
