The Titans waited a bit longer than other teams around the league before deciding to fire their head coach, but their list of potential replacements for Mike Munchak doesn’t look much different than what we’ve seen from those teams.
Jim Wyatt of the Tennessean reports that Seahawks defensive coordinator Dan Quinn, who has interviewed for the Browns job, and Cowboys special teams coach Rich Bisaccia, who interviewed with the Redskins. Titans General Manager Ruston Webster worked with Quinn in Quinn’s first Seattle stint and he worked with Bisaccia in Tampa.
Ian Rapoport of NFL Network also reported Sunday morning that Bisaccia is on the team’s list. He also reports that the team reached out informally to Seahawks offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell, who has been mentioned in relation to several other openings, before firing Munchak. Rounding out the early list of candidates are Chargers offensive coordinator Ken Whisenhunt and Vanderbilt coach James Franklin.
Whisenhunt is thought to be the favorite to land the job in Detroit while Franklin’s name has come up in conjunction with other jobs as well as the vacancy created when Bill O’Brien bolted Penn State for the Texans.
