Pep Hamilton gets a little salty with Patriots

If watching a pair of generational-great quarterbacks duel isn’t enough for you, there’s now a little sniping going on between the Colts and the Patriots in advance of Saturday night’s game.

Via Stephen Holder of the Indianapolis Star, Colts offensive coordinator Pep Hamilton took a little swipe at the Patriots and their Spygate past.

Hamilton was a Jets assistant from 2003 to 2005, so he knows the AFC East history well.

“I do know for a fact that it was always a 60-minute chess match,” Hamilton said. “It was ever-changing looks and disguises and they always tend to find ways to figure out some of your signals.”

Zing.

Hamilton’s words were also followed by the requisite praise for Patriots head coach Bill Belichick, of course.

“It’s truly an honor to have an opportunity to field a team and compete against the likes of Coach Belichick who will go down as one of the greatest coaches in the history of the National Football League,” he said.

Of course, Hamilton also has longtime Patriots wide receiver Deion Branch at his disposal this week, in case it seems the Colts have a little inside information of their own.
