Red Hot Chili Peppers to join Bruno Mars at Super Bowl halftime

RHCP

On a day that could be sufficiently cold to justify the wearing of a third sock, the band known for performing wearing nothing but the proverbial third sock will be making an appearance at the New Jersey Super Bowl.

According to the Los Angeles Times, the Red Hot Chili Peppers will join Bruno Mars during halftime of Super Bowl XLVIII. Mars is expected to make the announcement at halftime of Saturday’s game between the Saints and Seahawks, on FOX.

The primary halftime act at the Super Bowl often is joined by other artists, typically without advance notice.

Mars recently joked about the potential weather conditions at the game by saying that he’d wear a beekeeper’s suit.
