The inability of the Colts’ defense to stop the Patriots’ running game on the goal line has been the difference tonight in New England.
Stevan Ridley ran for a three-yard touchdown, then ran for a two-point conversion, in the third quarter to give the Patriots a 29-15 lead over the Colts.
Ridley’s touchdown was the Patriots’ fourth rushing touchdown in a goal-to-go situation: New England running back LeGarrette Blount has also scored three two-yard touchdowns tonight.
The Colts are doing their best to stay alive, and the Andrew Luck-led offense isn’t going down without a fight. But the Colts simply can’t stop the Patriots at the goal line. And that’s a pretty big problem.
