Percy Harvin ruled out with concussion

Seahawks wide receiver Percy Harvin has been ruled out of Saturday’s divisional playoff game vs. New Orleans after suffering a concussion, the club announced.

Limited to one game in the regular season because of a hip injury, Harvin was a key part of the offense as the Seahawks built a 16-0 halftime lead against New Orleans, hauling in three passes for 21 yards and rushing once for nine yards.

Harvin may have been injured late in the second quarter after his helmet hit the turf on an incomplete pass. In the first quarter, Harvin was checked for a concussion after being hit in the helmet by Saints defensive back Rafael Bush, but he remained in the game.

  1. Geez, is it time to figure out how many games Harvin has played versus missed due to injury in his career? Great talent but he can’t seem to stay on the field.

  2. The Seahawks don’t need him anyway. They could probably play second stringers and win this game.

  3. You can already tell how important Harvin is to the offense. Seahawks look lost without him out there. With him, they looked stellar. Seattle is in trouble if he cannot come back to play this season.

  4. Vikings fans cheering about a trade that hasn’t even helped their team…. But hey I guess everyone needs to cheer about something

  5. That punk dont wanna play…hope no one signs him ever again!
Tebow, Hernandez, Harvin…guess that Florida team wasnt made for NFL football after all

  6. It’s getting pretty sad seeing Vikings fans so pleased about the injuries to others.

You are literally saying Cordarelle Patterson isn’t helping. What are you on, anyway?

  8. As a Vikings fan, I love Percy. He’s possibly the most electric player in the league when healthy. But that’s the problem, he’s consistently shown that he’s injury prone. I’ll take a consistent Cordarrelle over an injury prone Harvin any day.

Yeah, I’m sure Packer fans would never say anything if Peterson got a concussion.

  10. Richard Sherman and Pete Carroll will get Percy hooked up with the good stuff in the off-season and teach him how to beat the test.

  11. Phenemonal talent, no doubt about that. But i’m starting to question whether the meds they have him on for migraines isn’t starting to affect his judgement, and his mind a little. How else can he be so hurt all season and not play, but be just fine for the first half of the MN game, then not be able to play til Coach decides to tell him he’s either playing or going on IR. Could the meds be affecting him or his judgement?

Whether it is, or it isn’t. It sucks, because he’s got gobs and gobs of talent. Just everything above the shoulders seems to have some problems. Doesn’t matter what team he’s on. He’s got talent. Just got some issues upstairs.

  12. What the heck is going on with the Saints ? Try a field goal with 3 minutes in the game ? For what ? to make it 11 to 16 ..dumb move 4 down territory coach..break of make call you lose …good luck Seattle !!!

  13. Great player……like a year and a half ago. He missed half of last season, was in one regular season game this year, and only three snaps in this game. Yikes. Might be time to admit the Vikings got the best of that deal.

  14. I think Percy knows HE has the best end of the deal…he’s on a good team, got a great QB,lives in an a chic city, and he s going to get a Super Bowl ring.

  15. Hey Viking fans how’s the view from the couch??

What you haters don’t understand is that Percy is a luxury for us.

We dominate and will continue to dominate your powder-puff organization for the next 1o years.

  16. Looks like we got a HOF in Steve Hutchinson and Seattle gets nate burleson, Sidney rice, tjack, and harvin……seems the bikes got better production out of one player the the hawks did 4 lol. Your gm is a sucker

I’m not a Vikings fan or any team in that division for that matter, but it’s getting pretty annoying that the only thing packer fans talk about is Viking fans.

  18. I’d be surprised if the league doesn’t go after the Seahawks. He was knocked out on that first possession, as was Golden Tate.

  19. Most Vikings fans do not wish ill will on Percy or the Seahawks.
We just knew that he “is was who we THOUGHT he was.”
He’s a talented guy that simply cannot stay healthy. Period. The Vikings were merely looking for more games out of the guy. It should be clear that he is never going to be much of a factor. He may be one of the most fragile guys in the league. That’s it.

    This is doubtful.
Seattle has a boatload of rookie contracts that are coming due, very soon. Your window of opportunity may actually be shorter than most. Your boys are going to want to get paid, and they will. You won’t be able to pay them all. Enjoy ’em while you got ’em.

You forgot the best part…. He’s getting paid more than most of your best players combined and he doesn’t have to play.

  22. Some true idiots here. Maybe u didn’t see the first hit harvin came back from. I mean seriously he gets blasted comes back and it wasn’t until the second dirty hit that he got concussion. I bet any of u that talking trash would be out for the year after the first hit. Show some respect you talking about the inevitable Super Bowl champs

  23. Two cheap shots on a player who hasn’t been in the game for months and people are already counting him out. I’ve always liked NO, right up until that first nasty hit. I don’t mind aggressive, tough football, but those hits were just plain dirty. Another bountygate if I’ve ever seen one.

  24. Some players just get injured more. Is it coincidence? Biology? Something else?

I don’t know. I tuned in to this game hoping to see Percy make a couple electric plays. Instead, I fear he has a new injury concern.

What a surprise ..first rebuttal was deleted. I ll say it again. Not a Packer fan, but if you read a Packer article ,Viking stupid fan comments out weigh anyone else’s 10 to 1… In fact go on any article and some Pf,I am sorry,Viking fan will post something hateful and stupid about Green Bay ..so please get over yourselves.

  26. Vikings fans (all 13 of them) just come off looking petty in this thread. No other way around it. Wish I could sit here and say I feel sorry for you, but I don’t. After all, it’s your choice to be a Vikings fan.

  27. Harvin isn’t the one at fault here……..unlike most of your posts’. ……The first hit was illegal and head hunting type of contact……The second happened and likely was compounded by that first helmet to helmet hit.

I firmly believe that Harvin will be successful here in Seattle…..Time will Tell.

    Go Hawks!
