A special teams mishap and a personal foul penalty have put the Saints in an early 3-0 hole at Seattle.
First, Saints punter Thomas Morstead mishandled a snap, then got off just a 16-yard punt, setting up Seattle on the New Orleans 40-yard-line.
Then, on 3rd-and-11 from the New Orleans 41, Saints defensive back Rafael Bush was penalized for a shoulder-to-helmet hit on Harvin, who had a dropped a pass downfield.
The Seahawks capitalized on the Saints’ mistakes, with kicker Steven Hauschka connecting on a 40-yard field goal to give Seattle a 3-0 lead less than five minutes into the game.
Harvin left the game and was tested for a concussion, the Seahawks said. However, he was back on the field for the Seahawks’ second drive.
The Saints’ second drive looked promising, but Shayne Graham missed a 45-yard field goal, which allowed Seattle to stay in front.
